How to order from Vista Higher Learning (VHL)

How to open a VHL account

If you are currently not a VHL customer, you can open an account by contacting our customer service group at 1-800-269-6311.

How to find out about the status of your order

If you have any questions about the status of your order and its fulfillment from our distribution center you can contact our customer service group at 1-800-269-6311.

When placing your order, you also have the option of leaving an email address for automatic confirmation of your order with tracking.

Any order that contains a title that is out of stock will be held until the order can ship complete.

The Returns Process - What, When and How

For products purchased directly from Vista Higher Learning, no permission to return is required.

A copy of the invoice and packing slip must accompany any return shipment along with clear identification of the store making the return.

Returns are accepted only for titles that are salable, unmarked, in new condition and in current edition. Editions that have been declared OP for 90 days or more are ineligible for return. Books superseded by a new edition are not returnable after 120 days following publication date of the new edition unless prior extension was granted in writing. Please reference industry publications that routinely carry notices of expiring editions. Shrink wrapped packages are non-returnable if shrink wrap is broken unless any item within the package is found to be defective. No credit will be given for damaged items nor will they be returned to you. Bookstores returning over 20% of annual purchases will be charged a restocking fee.

Please call Customer Service at 1-800-269-6311 in the event you have received defective or damaged books or incorrect titles. These publications should be returned immediately.

Returns will be accepted for 10 full months following issuance of the invoice for college bookstores and 6 full months for K-12 schools. Returned units may not exceed the number of units originally billed.

Eligible returns should be sent to the following address by a traceable service with the appropriate documentation as cited above:

The VHL Sell Through Program

Vista Higher Learning would like to partner with you, our bookstore customers, in supporting your sell through efforts during rush and in the first week of classes. If sell through of a Vista Higher Learning title is not meeting your expectations, we encourage you to contact us at the special email box set up for this purpose. That email address is sellthrough@vistahigherlearning.com.

The following information should be included in your email to VHL to help expedite a quick and effective response:

ISBN/Author/Title/Edition
Number of units ordered and approximate number unsold
Course number and key instructors
College name and address
Store name, store contact person and phone number
Class start date
Additional comments

Your email will be forwarded to your VHL sales representative who will then contact the instructor(s) to inform them that the student purchases of a VHL title are not meeting their expectations and discuss with them how we can help to promote the value of their course materials to their students.

REVISTA Substitution

Effective November 13, 2006, Vista Higher Learning will automatically substitute REVISTA Student Edition, Second Edition (ISBN: 1-60007-100-7 or ISBN13: 978-1-60007-100-3) on all orders of REVISTA Student Edition, First Edition (ISBN-1-59334-253-5 or ISBN13-978-1-59334-253-1). VHL will accept returns of REVISTA Student Edition, First Edition through February 28, 2007. Please contact Vista Higher Learning Customer Service at 800-269-6311 for more information.

¡VIVA! Substitution

Effective June 25, 2007, Vista Higher Learning will automatically substitute VIVA Technology Edition Student Package, Second Edition (ISBN-1-60007-369-7 or ISBN13-978-1-60007-369-4) on all orders of VIVA Student Package, First Edition (ISBN- 1-59334-688-3 or ISBN13-978-1-59334-688-1). This automatic substitution will also apply to any other student package combinations containing the VIVA, First Edition student edition.

VHL will accept returns of VIVA Student Package, First Edition through October 31, 2007. Please contact Vista Higher Learning Customer Service at 800-269-6311 for more information.
